Focus Groups
We have been supporting medical communities in their scientific and strategic thinking by organising focus groups for over 5 years. These groups bring together doctors to compare their practices, share their experiences and analyse the latest data from research. The resulting work contributes to enriching continuing medical education and advancing standards of care in constantly evolving fields.
Organising Focus Groups
Focus groups are designed as genuine peer-to-peer spaces for reflection, where medical experts exchange ideas on targeted topics. They enable in-depth exploration of:
- patient selection and referral,
- interpretation of diagnoses,
- standardisation of therapeutic approaches,
- the integration of technological innovations into daily practice.
This agile and interactive format adapts equally well to emerging challenges and to established fields that require regular reassessment.
We collaborate with key opinion leaders to define priority topics and organise discussions around the issues most relevant to clinical practice.
Each session is designed to foster open dialogue, critical analysis and collaborative development, within a confidential and collegial environment.
The exchanges feed into publications, practical recommendations and educational materials, enabling a structured dissemination of conclusions within medical communities.
We facilitate connections between practitioners, learned societies and industry, to promote access to innovation and alignment with the real needs of patients.
Current focus areas

Interventional cardiology, Tricuspid Valve
LThe PCR Tricuspid Focus Group was the first Focus Group created at PCR. It aims to modernise the management of tricuspid pathologies by promoting innovation, standardisation, and collaboration between specialties. Created in 2021, it contributes to reducing disparities in practice and to establishing common standards in an emerging field.

Interventional cardiology, Mitral
The PCR Mitral Focus Group aims to advance the management of mitral diseases by improving the understanding of phenotypes, refining patient selection, and developing tools to meet unmet needs. Set to launch in 2025, it aims to bring together experts from several disciplines to harmonise practices, strengthen medical education, and support the integration of innovative therapies.

MCS (Mechanical Circulatory Support)
The PCR MCS Focus Group’s mission is to improve the prognosis of patients with acute heart failure through mechanical circulatory support. From 2025, it will serve as a transdisciplinary platform to clarify indications, disseminate best practices, and align strategies among healthcare stakeholders, in order to support more coherent implementation at the international level.
